An initiative of The Whole Mind Group
The Whole Mind Initiative.
Our humanitarian arm — bringing the same practical, evidence-informed thinking to fundraising, child welfare, safeguarding, and humanitarian consulting. We advise, train, and connect; the regulated work is delivered by our licensed partners.
Why it exists
Whole-mind thinking, turned outward.
The same conviction that drives our training work — that lasting change is practical, evidence-informed, and built around the whole person — applies just as much to the organisations doing humanitarian work.
The Initiative is how we bring that to the sector: as advisors and trainers to agencies and NGOs, and as a connector to the licensed providers who deliver regulated services on the ground.
What we do
Four areas of humanitarian work
Strategy that holds up
We help mission-driven organisations plan and run fundraising that’s honest, sustainable, and built on real donor relationships — not one-off appeals.
- Campaign and case-for-support strategy
- Donor engagement and stewardship planning
- Practical, transparent reporting
- Training for in-house fundraising teams
Advisory for adoption & fostering work
We consult to and train the agencies, NGOs, and families’ support services working in adoption and fostering. We do not place children — placement is handled by the licensed providers we work alongside.
- Advisory and training for agencies and NGOs
- Best-practice and process guidance
- Family-support program design
- Referral to licensed, accredited providers
Keeping children safe by design
We help organisations that work with children build safeguarding into how they operate — clear policy, trained people, and frameworks that hold up under scrutiny.
- Safeguarding policy and framework development
- Staff and volunteer training
- Risk review and reporting structures
- Ongoing support as your organisation grows
Support for mission-driven organisations
Broader advisory for NGOs and humanitarian organisations — from program design to the wellbeing of the people doing the work.
- Program and operations advisory
- Team resilience and wellbeing (with TWMG)
- Monitoring and honest impact measurement
- Partnership and capacity building
A note on regulated services: The Whole Mind Initiative provides consulting, training, and coordination. Adoption, fostering, and other licensed services are delivered by accredited partner organisations — we connect you to the right one and support the work around it.
How we work
Advise, train, connect
Start with the real situation
We learn what your organisation is trying to do and where it’s stuck — before suggesting anything.
Build the capability
Practical training and frameworks that your own people can carry forward, not dependence on us.
Bring in the right partners
Where regulated or specialist work is needed, we connect you to licensed, accredited providers.
Doing humanitarian work? Let’s talk.
Tell us about your organisation and what you’re working toward, and we’ll suggest a sensible first step — or point you to a partner who’s the right fit.
